Boy am I glad that the Twins do not play in the AL East. The Twins just got swept in a four game series in Yankee Stadium dropping their record at the house that Ruth built (now the house that Jeter built) to 3-23 since Gardy took over in 2002. 3 wins. 23 losses. Seriously? (ed note: Out of the three wins that the Twins have had since 2002, Johan has two of them. Where is Johan when you need him...)
I have no explanation for this phenomenon. Is it the lore of Yankee Stadium? Is it that the Twins always have young pitching which leads to them being scared of facing the likes of A-Rod and Jeeta? Is it because the Twins players hate big cities? Whatever it is it needs to be fixed.
The funny thing about this is that Gardy is 2-2 in New York in the playoffs. Both series (2003 and 2004) the Twins split in New York only to lose two straight in the homer dome. Talk about home field advantage. The Twins haven't won a playoff game in the dome since 2002...ouch.
Back to Yankee Stadium...burn it down and lets build another one. This time they should build one with a big baggie in right field. Maybe this will trick the Twins into thinking that they are in Minnesota and they will actually be able to play baseball. At least Monday's loss wasn't in walk off fashion. It was still another one run loss. But it was better then this. And this. Oh and also this. It takes strength to be a Twins fan. Stay strong my friends. Stay strong...
