It’s A Little Chilly In Here

Before I get to Chilly being canned and my NFL picks for the week, let me first say that Auburn…I’m sorry. I did not believe in you what-so-ever and you have proven me wrong.  Cam Newton, you are a beast and Coach Gene, you are one badass mother fucker for going into Bama and wiping the floor with Nick Saban’s face in that 2nd half.  Damn…

And what a day today was in college football.  That great Iron Bowl followed by Oregon getting a scare from Arizona for three quarters until pulling away late and this Boise State v Nevada game has been everything you’d want to see in a football game.  And it’s only Friday!  Wooo!  Saturday brings us a full slate of games to get excited about as well.

Now…Chilly…

61966396

He basically was a dead man walking after that Randy Moss fiasco a few weeks back and not having the Silver Fox on your side really didn’t help him much either.  Going back a few weeks to my who said it post, you can see why no one would want to play for that guy.  He is a terrible communicator and an even worse coach.  Yeah, maybe good old #4 threw a few too many picks and yeah, maybe Sidney Rice should have gotten surgery right away but still…c’mon man.  It will be interesting to see if this Vikings team responds the way that the Cowboys did after they fired their coach and the vikes will try and salvage some sort of pride with their season.

Onto the picks…

First I’d like to say that if I had picked the Thanksgiving games I would have been 3-0, that’s kinda obvious when you look at the matchups but I digress…

Green Bay v ATLANTA

Green Bay is coming off of a beat down and a sweep of the rival Vikings and the Falcons are the newly crowned “best team” in the NFL power rankings (because, you know, those matter in the NFL when they have a playoff.  What a novel idea…)  The Falcons are at home where they are always tough but I really think the Pack and the Eagles are the teams to beat right now in the NFC.  The Packers are really good.  So is Aaron Rodgers…

Prediction: Pack 27 – ATL 21

Philadelphia v CHICAGO

I stand by my belief that the Bears are really garbage.  Plus the Eagles are good and they have a guy named Mike Vick (not to be mistaken for Michael Vick).  Mike Vick is a MVP, Jay Cutler is not…

Prediction: Phily 20 – Bears 13

Tampa Bay v BALTIMORE

That’s right, I’m jumping on the wagon Raheem!  I like the Buc’s.  I like Josh Freeman.  I like LaGarrett Blount running the ball and not punching people.  I like Mike Williams.  I like their swagger.  This will be their test.  The Ravens are a really good team and are playing at home.  Ray Ray doesn’t like to lose at home.  Ray Ray kills people when they lose at home.  I wouldn’t feel safe in Baltimore after Sunday’s game.

Prediction: Tampa 24 – Ravens 20

Indianapolis v SAN DIEGO

The Colts and Bolts meet again and come into the game with different attitudes.  The Colts just lost a heartbreaker last week in Foxboro on a last minute int thrown by Peyton and the Bolts come off of a clobbering of the Bronco’s on Monday Night Football and they look primed for another 2nd half surge.  I think Peyton rights the ship this week vs the Chargers because that’s what Peyton does, and he does it well (Tommy Boy anyone?  Anyone?)

Prediction: Colts 27 – Bolts 24

Rivalry Week!

One of the best weekends of college football is upon us with great matchups across the board.  So let’s get to my picks that are sure to be wrong shall we?

Auburn v ALABAMA

Cam Newton and his Tigers go into Tuscaloosa and have to come out with a win or else they will see their national championship dreams dashed (unless Oregon or Boise lose).  I’ve been saying that Alabama will win this game handedly and I’m not going back on that prediction now.  Alabama is just too tough at home and they will be upset minded for sure.

Prediction: Auburn 24 - ‘Bama 34

Boise State v NEVADA

If you were to tell me five years ago that Boise State vs Nevada would be a top 20 matchup I would have told you that you must have been playing NCAA 2006 for too long (quick tangent, that kinda stuff would always piss me off about college video games.  these terrible teams would be simulated to be good and mess all of the bowl games up. I guess thats how the people at the BCS feel right now.  Don’t even get me started on NCAA basketball….no 16 seed will ever beat a 1 seed.  C’mon video games)  Boise wins because they are the better football team and i wanna see them in the national championship.

Prediction: Boise 38 – Nevada 21

LSU v ARKANSAS

This game isn’t real important as far as the SEC goes because the championship game is already determined (Auburn v South Carolina) but it could have an effect of the BCS games as LSU is currently 5th and Arkansas is 12th.  Arkansas has had the upperhand lately in this matchup but in the end I think LSU is too tough defensively for Ryan Mallett and Co.

Prediction: LSU 24 – Arkansas 21

Oklahoma v OKLAHOMA STATE

BEDLAM!  Even though I have no idea what that means, everyone gets excited about it so I might as well too right?  I remember these games always being crazy and if I remember right Oklahoma State would always upset Oklahoma in some crazy way to ruin their season. Well this year the tables are tur….just kidding.  Oklahoma State is tough this year even with reloading at the QB and WR positions. As long as Justin Blackmon didn’t get drunk and drive home from the Cowboys game yesterday these Cowboys should be fine.

Prediction: Oklahoma 34 – OK State 42

UPSET PICK!!!!!!!

Iowa v MINNESOTA

Who hates Iowa? We hate Iowa! Gophs running the table to end the year and shockin the world!

Prediction: Iowa 24 – Minnesota 28

NFL picks coming tomorrow.

Tubby! Tubby! Tubby!

Well well well.  Look who got the first statement win of the season.  That’s right.  A University of Minnesota athletic team has actually pulled a major upset in a major sport and I’m majorly excited (you see what I did there?)  The Gophers beat the Tar Heels out of North Carolina (and ranked #8 in the nation) 72-67.  Harrison Barnes really showed why he was the first freshman to be a pre-season All-American by shooting 0-13 and Blake Hoffarber lead the way for the Gophers by scoring 20 points (and jacking up a shit ton of 3’s.  That’a boy Blake, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take).  TUBBY!

Anyway, there is still football to be played this weekend and the most ridiculous story of the weekend is not Cam Newtown getting paid a lot to play a spot he should be playing for free*. It’s the game that is to be played in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.  What a story this is.  Northwestern faces off against in-state rival Illinois in the ballpark that hasn’t seen football in 70 years.  Only they aren’t using the old field layout that the Bears used to use, they decided to have one endzone in the 3rd base foul territory and the other one in right field.

Preparing Wrigley

This right field endzone is where the trouble lies.  This picture says it all…

539w Would you want to play on that field?  The outfield wall is only six inches away from the back endzone line.  Its basically Arena Football (which, unbeknownst to me, is back and going strong) for half of an endzone. So what do they do?  Well, they decided to have the offenses for each team try and score in the same endzone.  Obviously not the end zone above.  So basically if you have a seat in right field, sucks to be you because the only scoring you will see in your face is a defensive one.  My question is, why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?  It’s like they put up the padding and thought, “Wait a minute.  This doesn’t seem right.”  Well good thing that they decided to change it the day before they play the game, that was probably scheduled years ago, which meant that they would have already decided that Wrigley Field was suitable for that said football game to be played…something like that.

On to the picks! (Home team in CAPS)

Ohio State vs IOWA

Ohio State is coming off a big home win vs Penn State and Iowa is coming off a loss late in their game vs Northwestern (which lost QB Dan Persa on the game winning touchdown).  Iowa is allllways good at home and they showed that as they really took it to Michigan State but I like my Buckeyes in this one.  TPeezy2 will come ready to play and I think OSU has too many players for the Hawkeyes.

Prediction: OSU 20 – Iowa 9

Virginia Tech vs MIAMI

I’m picking Miami in this game for two reasons: One, this video:

and #2, I had to live 30 minutes away from Virginia Tech and Blacksburg, VA and all you hear about is Hokie this and Hokie that.  Well, screw you Hokies.  ITS ALL ABOUT DA U!

Prediction: Va Tech 21 – Da U 34

UPSET PICK!!!!  Wisconsin vs MICHIGAN

Fuck Wisconsin, clap clap clap clap clap, Fuck Wisconsin, clap clap clap clap clap

Prediction: Bucky 24 – Michigan 38

Green Bay vs MINNESOTA

Well Brett, this is it.  How fitting that this game is against the Packers too?  If the Vikings lose they go to 3-7 and for sure out of the playoffs and done for the season.  Does a loss mean that we see some T-Jack action?  Does a loss mean that Brett Favre gets surgery and retires? Could we see the last game ever played by Brett Favre?  Am I blowing your mind?

Prediction: Packers 24 – Vikings 27

aaron-rodgers-brett-favre1 HOW ABOUT NOW!

Indianapolis vs NEW ENGLAND

The annual Manning-Brady bowl is also played this weekend marking the 11th time since 2002 that these qb’s have faced off and wouldn’t ya know it, the series is tied at 5 a piece.  Fitting right?  I expect the Patriots to hold their own at home and tip the scales towards Tom and pull out a close victory vs the banged up Colts.

Prediction: Colts 17 – Pats 27

New York vs PHILADELPHIA

Did you see Mike Vick on Monday?  DID YOU! DID YOU SEE THAT! All joking aside it was probably the most impressive display ever put on by a quarterback in my lifetime and Mike Vick was the guy to do it.  This guy is unreal.  Can’t say enough about him but the Giant pass rush could cause a problem for Vick in this game.  Not saying that they will sack Vick multiple times but they will force Vick out of the pocket and to run the football.  Vick has been successful this season because he is exhausting all of this throwing options before he runs with the football, not vise versa which he was doing in his Hotlanta days.  Vick has become this year’s MVP because he is dangerous passing the football and THEN running the football.  The Giants will try to make him a running QB again.  They still will lose.

Prediction: Giants 24 – Eagles 28

Lets hope I can win more than 2 games this weekend.  Until next time…

Who Knew That Prison Was Good For NFL Quarterbacks?

20-28 333 yards 4 touchdowns passing with 8 rushing attempts for 80 yards and two more touchdowns.   That was Mike Vick’s stat line from last night.  Yes, the Mike Vick that spent 23 months in jail and threw like 15 passes last year.  This year he is the leader in the MVP race and his Eagles looks like real NFC contenders.  Wow right?  But this is not a praising post, this is a post where I’m going to blatantly steal an idea from DJ Gallo of Page 2 on espn.com.  His idea was simple, which players from the NFL weekend, if on a fantasy football team, would crush your fantasy team.  Only these players weren’t Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson, they were Tyler Thigpen and Adrian Peterson, you know…the other one

Terrible Fantasy Team That Beat Your Fantasy Team Week 10

QB: Troy Smith SF – 17-28 356 yds 1 td, 12 yards rushing = 19 pts

RB: Keiland Williams WAS – 16-86 2 td’s, 4 catches for 50 yds and 1 td = 31 pts

RB: Jerome Harrison PHI – 11-109 1 td, 1 catch for 15 yds = 17 pts

WR: Mike Thomas JAX – 8-149 1 td, 18 yards rushing = 21 pts

WR: Early Doucet AZ – 6-71 1 td = 13 pts

TE: Rob Gronkowski NE – 5-72 3 tds = 25 pts

K: Jeff Reed PIT – 1/2 fg’s = 3 pts

In honor of Jeff Reed getting cut because of last week’s 26 yard duff off of the post I leave you with this picture…

jeff-reed-arrested-moron-douchebag yes this is really Jeff Reed….kickers right?

Oh yeah, my picks….lets not talk about my picks.  (2-4 on the weekend, 4-9 overall.  Hey, at least I’m consistent with my two right picks a week…)

Gus Johnson!

The Gus Johnson Rule in full effect this week.

It’s Up To Him If He Plays Or Not…

Chilly called out another player this week, this time targeting wide receiver Sidney Rice.  Sid was a smarty pants and decided to get surgery in August when he could have had the same surgery right after last season.  You know, the one that ended like this…?

Anyway Chilly indirectly takes a jab at Sidney Rice because if Rice decides not to play Chilly can just put the blame on him.  Way to be a leader.  I don’t want to beat a dead Chilly so I’ll leave him alone until he actually does get fired.  On to the predictions!

NCAA FOOTBALL

There aren’t many marquee matchups on the college gridiron this weekend but the only two games between Top 25 ranked teams are SEC battles.  (Home in CAPS)

South Carolina vs FLORIDA

The winner will battle either LSU or Auburn or Alabama in the SEC Championship game and the result will depend on how effective SC’s freshman running back Marcus Lattimore is.  If he is healthy and runs well the Cocks have a shot.  If not, Mo Mama will be dancing in the Gainesville streets with some randos.

Prediction: SC 24 – Gators 31

Mississippi St vs ALABAMA

No way Alabama loses two weeks in a row. No way.

Prediction: MISS ST 13 – Bama 31

UPSET SPECIAL!!!!!

Cal over Oregon – I’m feeling an upset with this game, you know, since it’s my upset special and all…

NFL

Minnesota vs CHICAGO

If the Vikes win this game…they are right in the think of things with another game vs Chicago on a Monday Night later in the season.  Vikings still have games vs the Packers (next week) and the Lions to further help their chance at making the playoffs and also face the Bills and Redskins.  I smell playoffs baby!

Prediction: Vikes 28 – Bears 13

New England vs PITTSBURGH

Both teams are coming off tough road battles as the Pats got crushed by the Browns in the Dawg Pound and yes, you read that right, and the Steelers went into Cincy and took care of a divisional foe.  Whoever comes out of this game with a win will claim the top record in the NFL and also the top spot in ESPN.com’s power rankings. Because the NFL is like college football where computers decide who plays for the championship.  Oh that’s not how it works and they have something called a playoff?  Hmm, not sure that’s gonna work out…

Prediction: NE 20 – Pitt 24

Philadelphia vs WASHINGTON

Donovan McNabb gets his first crack at some old mates in this weeks Monday Night Football game.  Only time will tell though if he has mastered the offense during the Redskins bye week.

Prediction: Philly 35 – Redskins 17

BREAKING NEWS!

Some Vikings players don’t like head coach Brad Childress (or Chilly as I call him. We have a good vibe) and this is some sort of breaking news?  Who didn’t already know that everyone in Minnesota doesn’t trust Chilly and that includes the Viking locker room.  The owner already told the media that he considered firing Chilly and Brett Favre said that “you don’t have to like your coach.”  I think that pretty much sums it up.

There were some anonymous players that fed ESPN some great quotes and in honor of these revelations I want to play a little game I like to call, “Who Said It?”

Quote #1: “We know that Childress doesn't have our backs, so why should we have his?  We're playing for us, and we're winning despite him."

Quote #2: "He has absolutely no people skills."

Quote #3: "We got too many good football players, and we won't lay down like Dallas”

Quote #4: "As much as I hate Childress, I will keep playing."

Wow! There were a few zings thrown around in those quotes.  So who said what? Lets take a closer look at Quote #1…

The quote touches on Chilly’s way of throwing players under the bus to the media after games, something he is really good at.  I’m not sure if Chilly was ever schooled in “How to not turn your football team against you” because he’s really good at doing the opposite.  So this player probably got called out once or twice by Chilly to the media, soooo whooo could it beee?  My guess, none other than B Twice Bernard Berrian.

Quote #2 came from a team source, whatever that means.  This quote is pretty tame so I’m going to go with Director of Public Relations Bob Hagan.  It just sounds like something good old Bobby would say.

Our third quote isn’t so much a burn on Chilly as it is on the Dallas Cowboys.  The Cowboy’s quit on their season and its pretty fun to watch and the Vikings have done the opposite and are still in the race as the playoffs are concerned.  I think my man Jared Allen said this one.  The reason?  Watch this video and tell me that Jared didn’t say this.

Our final quote is probably the best one of the bunch.  This player HATES Chilly.  How can you hate Chilly?  I mean all he does is challenge plays at the wrong time, he doesn’t stick to the run when he should (we have a guy named Adrian Peterson back there) and he doesn’t know how to handle his players when it comes to talking to the media.  What’s not to like? So lets think here, who could possibly hate Brad Childress enough to tell the media so?  Ray Edwards, that’s who.  He’s the only one on the team that is stupid enough to actually tell the media that he hates the guy that is in charge (football wise anyway, or supposedly).  So good job Ray Ray.  If I’m wrong…you still play stupid.  Win-win for me in the end.

Tweet of the Day 11/10

Wednesday’s Tweet of the Day comes from my man Stephen A. Smith.

@stevenasmith: Fyi...I will be on CNN tonight with Eliott Spitzer near the bottom of the hour-long show. Just wanted ya'll to know.

Why is Stephen A. Smith going on CNN?  Am I missing something here?  This is the same guy that was the target of this video right?

Tweet of the Day 11/9

Today’s fight to be crowned Tweet of the Day came down to two contenders and in the end it was too close to decide so lucky you, the reader, as I now present you with tonight’s double feature…

Our first tweet comes from Jim Rome.

@jimrome: Kevin Durant legend grows. A meeting ran late and he couldn't call the show. He just called me personally to apologize. A Jungle first.

alg_kevin_durant

(Fantasy!)  KD is the real deal on and off the court.

Our 2nd Tweet of the Day comes from Kanye West.

@kanyewest: I am a creative person.... I'm not a good celebrity but I'm a great artist... I'm tired of using my celebrity to sell my art.

Kanye_West_3

I’m not sure if anyone out there in Twitterland saw Kanye’s rant today but if you haven’t you should go back and read it.  Kanye had at least a 15 tweet rant about how the media is out to get him and how he’s creative and blah blah.  Twitter can be really awesome but it can also lead to really weird rants by celebrities (John Mayer anyone?).  Until next time…

Tweet of the Day 11/8

Monday’s Tweet of the Day comes a day late because of this (warning, if you have a weak stomach and/or do not like deer carcasses  I suggest you to look elsewhere)

deer3

deer1 deer2

deer4

Yes, I saw a deer go from being a deer to being a pile of meat for the first time, it was….interesting. Yeah….interesting.

Anyway, the Tweet of the Day for Monday comes from my favorite MLB manager.

OzzieGuillen: Good game tarell owens

Apparently Ozzie is a big TO fan…big enough that he doesn’t know that Terrell has two R’s.

Monday Montage 11/8

The Vikings might have saved their season but they definitely didn’t save Chilly’s job.

Has there ever been a more unpredictable NFL season than this one?  The Browns beat the 6-1 Pats by 20? What?

I wouldn’t be surprised tonight if the Bengals come to play vs the Steelers.  TOcho better have some good celebrations tonight.  Or else…

George Bush has a book out and as crazy as it sounds…I think I want to read it.  I’m curious to see what he has to say about what went on during his presidency.

Has anyone seen the show on MTV called Moved In?  All I can say is wow…click here if you haven’t seen it.

Speaking of amazing TV shows, I also saw perhaps the greatest game show of all time, Catch 21.  Watch this…The game that I saw, no one knew the rules and it was confusing as ever.  Perfect recipe for a great game show: confusing and Carleton is the host!

The new Call of Duty game looks real nice, but what looks even nicer is the commercial for it.

CONAN PREMIERES TONIGHT! WATCH IT! DO IT! TEAM COCO!

Tweet of the Day 11/7

Today’s Tweet of the day comes from University of Minnesota starting point guard (unless he starts skipping classes again) Al Nolan.

@BluePrint_0: So they better have fresh meat at chipotle I don't care if it close to closing time or not lol ima be salty if they dont

chipotle_burrito

The man just wanted his burrito fresh, he’ll be salty if it’s not.  Is he talking about the meat or his personality?

So, about that…

Remember how a few days ago I made some predictions on how I thought some of this weekends major sporting matchups would go? Oh, you don’t? Well lets take a look at what I said…

TCU vs Utah

Prediction: TCU 20 – Utah 29

Dangit, I should have seen that 93 yard touchdown pass to start the game and then Horned Frogs dominate every facet of the game. My bad.

Result: TCU 47 – Utah 7

Arizona vs Stanford

Prediction: AZ 31 – Stanford 38

I thought that this game would be a bit closer…but at least I was right. I’ll take it.

Result: AZ 17 – Stanford 42

Tampa Bay vs Atlanta

Prediction: TB 27 – ATL 17

Well I thought that Tampa would come out and take it to the Falcons because I really don’t think that the Falcons are that good and Josh Freeman is the new comeback kid. He almost did it again today as the Bucs were stopped on 4th down from ATL’s 2 yard line. In the end this TB team could be a fun team to watch if they make the playoffs.

Result: TB 21 – ATL 27

Kansas City vs Oakland

Prediction: KC 17 – Oakland 13

The Raaaaaaaaaaaaiders are back! After their first three game winning streak since 2002, the Raiders are over .500 in November for the first time since Al Davis died (wait, he’s still alive?) and Raider Nation is rockin! Woo!

Result: KC 20 – Oakland 23

Indianapolis vs Philadelphia

Prediction: Indy 24 – Philly 10

Mike Vick is BACK! My favorite college player ever is now Mike Vick 2.0 and is running his way to an MVP season. Let’s all take that in for a second…Mike Vick, the man who spent over a year in jail for killing and fighting pit bulls, is now the front runner for MVP of the National Football League. Crazy world. And he beat Peyton. Damn.

Result: Indy 24 – Philly 26

Boston vs Oklahoma City

Prediction: Boston 92 – OKC 98

Kevin Durant had 34 (fantasy!) and Rondo had a modest 10-5-10 (fantasy!) and fresh pick up Serge Ibaka had 8 and 11 (fantasy!). Other than that, I have no idea what happened because I don’t have NBA TV. I obviously knew that Boston would score 92 points…I’m that good.

Result: Boston 92 – OKC 83

Portland vs Los Angeles

Prediction: Portland 93 – LA 109

Lakers win. They are really good. Yawn.

Result: Portland 96 – LA 121

If you’re counting I went two for seven on the weekend. Hey, I’m batting .286...That will get me a regular spot in the lineup at least. Maybe in the 7 hole or something. Until next time...

Tweet of the Day 11/5

Friday’s Tweet of the Day is a good one if you are a guy…and I’m a guy.  It comes from former American Next Top Model Adrianne Curry and she later married Peter Brady after falling in love on the Surreal Life on VH1

adriannecurry: why waste money on panties? You can get em for 2 bucks from target and they look like a million!

oh and it also featured this picture…

188592065

Sorry mom, you’re welcome guys, thank you twitter

TGIF…WOOO!

Well it’s that time of the week where everyone’s facebook status updates say some version of “Thank God it’s Friday!”.  And I say, “WE KNOW ITS FRIDAY AND THAT MEANS YOU HAVE THE WEEKEND OFF OF WORK, WE GET IT!”

Whew, now that that’s off my chest, let’s get to this weekends major matchups around the wide world of sports. (Home team in CAPS)

NCAA FOOTBALL

TCU vs UTAH

First off, thanks Texas Christian University for messing up my “Home team in CAPS” rule because I refuse to type out the entire name for a school when it’s abbreviation is more widely known.  Second, the Horned Frogs are a very, very good team.  Third, the Utes are a very, very good team.  TCU beat Baylor earlier in the year but this was in September and Baylor is a better team now.  This game will go down with the classic football adage of “whoever makes the most mistakes will lose”.

Prediction: TCU 20 - Utah 29

Arizona vs STANFORD

In the real must watch college game of the weekend (we all know that Bama will take care of the Had Hatter and beat LSU, handedly) We have a Pac-10 (soon to be 12) showdown that could ultimately decide who plays in the Rose Bowl (barring Oregon losing).  I’m big on Stanford this year and they are a real fun team to watch and easy to root for.  Arizona lives on big plays and their Stoops defense and are also getting starting QB Nick Foles back from injury which, you know, could give them a boost or something.

Prediction: Arizona 31 – Stanford 38

NFL

Tampa Bay vs ATLANTA

In unlikely matchup #1 of division contenders it’s the first place Falcons vs the first place Bucs.  Yes, we’ll soak that one in together….The first place Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Josh Freeman has only had six comeback victories already in his career that spans, oh 16 games.  Not bad.  Tampa Bay is the best team in the NFC, yeah I said it.

Prediction: Tampa 27 – Atlanta 17

Indianapolis vs PHILADELPHIA

Vick comes back this week for the Eagles but he’s going to be chased by Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis all afternoon and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kevin Kalb for a few series because Andy Reid is goofy like that.  All in all, Peyton is having anther MVP season and he just keeps on being Peyton.

Prediction: Indy 24 – Philly 10

Kansas City vs OAKLAND

In unlikely matchup #2 of division contenders, it’s a rivalry that will get the blood flowing in Chris Berman’s body.  Its the Chiefs vs the Raaaaaaaaaiders. Both teams are this years NFL surprises (along with Tampa) and both look to get a leg up on the AFC West with a win on Sunday.  Kansas City wants to prove they are real and a win on the road in Oakland with all the crazies would go a long way in confirming this.

Prediction: KC 17 – Oakland 13

NBA

Boston vs OKLAHOMA CITY

According to all of the experts (me included) this what the NBA’s third place series would look like.  Both teams are at the top of their respected conferences and even though its still very early in this years NBA season, both teams look to make a statement.  Oh and Rondo, KG and Kevin Durant are on my fantasy team (yeah, pretty ballin)

Prediction: Boston 92 – OKC 98

Portland vs LOS ANGELES

People question if Kobe can keep up his relentless style of play throughout the entire regular season and into the post season, but what people fail to realize is that he’s Kobe, he can do anything.  He’s still the best player in the game and his team is stacked again this year.  Can’t wait for game seven in LA vs the Heat…

Prediction: Portland 93 – LA 109

Another Sports Blog: Version 2.0

I’m going to skip all of the “sorry I forgot to post” bs because I know no one out there reads this regularly (Hi Mom!) so I’m just going to get right to it.   I want to write more.  I have a blog.  I’m going to write more.  There.

With that said, it is my pleasure to present to you: the first ever Video That I Like Friday! Each and every Friday I will post a video that I like.  And I can only imagine that you (the reader) will like it awesome because I have an amazing sense of humor.  You’re welcome in advance.  Also at the end of each day I will post a “Tweet of the Day”.  It could be from a celebrity like Rainn Wilson.  It could be from an athlete like Chris Johnson.  Or it could be from a grad student like Sam Leof.  You want to have the “Tweet of the Day”?  Well get out there in the twitterverse and show me what ya got.

Lastly on Fridays I will also preview the big sporting events that will take place during the weekend.  It will consist of a mixture of college football and the NFL with a few NBA games sprinkled in.

Video That I Like for Friday, November 6th, 2010
